Beginning Hammered Dulcimer - LL Thompson W/ CD. A good starter collection of basic tunes for the beginning dulciemr player. The CD has the music at a moderate tempo to practise with. The music is also in tab. It has a nice cross section of American, Irish, English and Scottish music. Although this is not an instruction book, Linda includes several pages of useful playing advice for the new dulcimist. Highly recommended.

40 O'Carolan Tunes - Sylvia Woods. Book & CD. Finally a collection of O'Carolan tunes with chord charts! This book is written for harp with 2 versions of every tune (simple and harder) but is useful for all instruments because of the chords. Especially handy for guitar & piano players. A couple of the tunes are in C that are now commonly played in D, but for the most part this is a great Top 40. The CD has all the tunes played at a moderate tempo.
